Important update from Santa...

Bilberry the elf is missing, the sleigh has broken down… Santa’s grounded at Harestanes! He urgently needs your help to fly back to Lapland in time for Christmas. Come and join us on a festive quest to find Santa’s magic icicles so that he can get back on his way.

Find out how you, family & friends can help by checking out our event page here!

A famous March Hare once said:

“The hurrier I go; the behinder I get” …

… And we agree - modern life is busy, complicated and often a little too rushed for our liking. It’s easy to forget to unwind and take stock of the simple joys: Walking with your loved ones, savoring a home-baked treat, indulging in a little retail therapy.

Ever wondered what your life would be like with a few more of those simple pleasures? Then wonder no more…

Often we forget to treat ourselves, then when we remember we’re bombarded with the ordinary - nothing takes our fancy!

Shopping isn’t like that at Harestanes. We curate our retail haven seasonally, buying little and often, so you’re never bored and can guarantee that your new treasures are unique!

Freshly home-baked scones, hearty bowls of soup with artisan bread, delicious coffee and hot drinks… need we say more? We think ingredients should be sourced locally and from throughout the great Scottish larder. We then change our menus to seasonally to compliment the weather and the changing woodland scenery.

Myth, history and nature combine at Harestanes - offering some of the most beautiful and inspiring walking routes in the Scottish Borders. Whether you’re after an energetic hike or a leisurely jaunt.

Discover the local countryside on foot and by bike. Harestanes has a range of waymarked paths including St Cuthbert's Way, one of the country's most popular long-distance trails.

A network of quiet public roads provides options for cyclists, including the popular 4 Abbeys Route.

For little ones who have lots in common with our mischievous little hare character… We can’t wait for you to discover our adventure play park. Picnic benches offer the perfect setting for grown-ups to relax with a hot cup of tea!

Speaking of grown-ups… Harestanes has plenty of fun and discovery on offer for everyone young at heart. Keep an eye on our events calendar for everything including yoga, Finnish Housekeeping courses, and even bushcraft!
