Borders Sport and Leisure Pop-Up Play Sessions to Banish Summer Boredom

Featuring giant inflatables and kit for a variety of sports, the sessions will be held in parks across the Borders and hosted by our Active Schools team.

Social media will be key for spreading the word about the initiative, with dates and times for each of the sessions announced on the Borders Sport and Leisure Facebook page and Twitter feed.

We are also hosting an extensive summer holiday sports programme across the region featuring dozens of bookable, coached sessions in a range of activities including gymnastics, athletics, basketball, judo, tennis, football, canoeing, trampolining and swimming. The sessions have been designed to cater for all ages from pre-school and primary school children to high school pupils.

Ewan Jackson, Chief Executive of Borders Sport and Leisure said:
“Our Pop-up Play sessions are just one of the many innovative ways that we have developed to help keep children active and entertained over the school holidays.  From pre-school sessions to rookie lifeguarding classes, family fun and multi-sport games, we’re offering lots of ways for children to burn off energy and learn that keeping fit is fun as well as being a vital part of healthy living.”
