Trinity Titans Bat for Success

The team secured victory at the 2014 Fianls Dayheld recently at Hawick and Wilton Cricket Club.  Over 100 children from 14 different teams took part in the inter-schools competition with the Titans defeating Henholm Heroes 92 for 7 against 38 for 8 to clinch the title.

Borders Sport and Leisure Hawick Primary Active Schools Coordinator, Paul Scott said:  “What a brilliant morning to successfully round off the Hawick and Wilton CC Primary school league for 2014. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone involved - schools, the club, school staff, coaches, parents and more. We couldn’t have done it without you. I’d also like to offer special congratulations to Trinity Titans from Trinity Primary School who took home the league title following a tense grand finale with Henholm’s Heroes.”

2014 marked the eighth year of the Hawick and Wilton Cricket Club Primary School League. The league final event followed six weeks of extra-curricular inter-schools matches between the 14 participating teams to determine the
play-off positions.

Ewan Jackson, Chief Executive of Borders Sport and Leisure added: “We were delighted that so many schools chose to participate in the championship this year.  Any children involved that would like to keep up their cricket would be made most welcome at the Hawick and Wilton CC juniors training sessions which take place every Tuesday evening from 6-7pm at the club.”
