‘The Fisherman and the Seal’ by Yugen Puppet Company

Scottish fairy tale with a twist; using hand crafted puppets and striking shadow silhouettes for comic telling of how a fisherman falling in love with a seal discovers in matters of love things don’t always go according to plan. Family show Suitable for age 5+ (45 minutes)

‘Dinosaur Detectives’ by Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre

Puppetry combined with projection and shadow theatre creates a fascinating world for dinosaur lovers! The Dinosaur Detectives follow a journey of discovery, fun and conflict surrounding the first fossil finds of Mary Anning, William Buckland and Gideon Mantell.
A fossil table will be available at the end of the show for everyone to study fossils – including Dinosaur Vertebrae and Dinosaur Poo!

Live Borders is pleased to support Treading The Borders Theatre Company with the development of their next production BRIEF ENCOUNTER. Workshops will be designed to specifically develop writing skills required for theatrical production and cover script writing techniques, thematic content, casting, character development and setting. Participants are required to attend all three dates.

Traditional Music Student Tour 2017

Workshops and concert performance tour of the Scottish Borders by Plockton’s multi-talented S6 music students from The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music. Accordion, clarsach, fiddle, pipes, piano, guitar, whistle, flute, and Scots and Gaelic song, all feature strongly on the programme, so there really is something for everybody in the show!

‘T-his/T-hat’ interactive performance for children by Fuora Dance Project

Inspire and entertain your little ones with this interactive performance supported by the Italian Institute of Culture, Edinburgh. Children will be actively involved in the performance, interacting with props and language, including learning some simple Italian words. Lots of opportunities to join in and play with all the hats!

Suitable for ages 2 – 5, a great family show which lasts 45 minutes.
