Drawings and Sculptures by Ally Wallace
We are delighted to welcome Glasgow based artist Ally Wallace and his exhibition to Old Gala House Museum and Gallery.
Ally is inspired and makes art that reflects his interest in Modernist Architecture. In 2018 he embarked on a self-initiated residency at Netherdale Stadium, Galashiels; home of Gala Fairydean Rovers Football Club. He was particularly interested in Netherdale’s cantilevered, concrete grandstand which was completed in 1964 to a design by Borders based Modernist architect Peter Womersley.
This exhibition comprises the original observational drawings and other works developed during the project alongside more recent sculptures which relate to the artist’s ongoing interest in Modernist and Brutalist architecture.
