Eryn Rae – Live at Heart of Hawick
Local lass makes it big!
Fiddle player Eryn Rae is the 2022 Young Traditional Musician of the year which she won with her amazing maturity of style and grace.
Hailing from the Scottish Borders, Eryn Rae has been playing the fiddle from the age of 7 under the tuition of renowned Shetland fiddler, Catriona Macdonald. Now based in Glasgow, Rae recently completed her studies at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Music.
Eryn will be joined by fellow Borderer Scott Turnbull on guitar and piano, producing an authentic but distinct sound. The duo have been playing together for over ten years and specialise in music from all corners of Scotland, in addition to other places with thriving traditions such as Ireland and Cape Breton. Over the years they have gigged both nationally and further afield in Europe, and have also had the opportunity to support the likes of Dougie MacLean.
Come and see why she’s going to be a major star in the world of traditional music.
