Momentum and Soul – Visual Art Exhibition by Andy Moir at Halliwell’s House Museum

Andy Moir, a local Selkirk artist, is exhibiting his new range of work at Halliwell’s House Museum. He’s previously exhibited with Live Borders, both in Galashiels and in Peebles, and has now brought forth a new body of exciting abstract work.

Andy Moir’s new work represents a shift in a new direction and to new territory. Letting go of the familiar and leaning into intuitive play, risk-taking and ‘not knowing’, has been the basis for these abstract works, honing in on what feels soulful and authentic. Hints of earlier landscape art and memories, show themselves subliminally in this joyful, energising and liberating exhibition.

Andy Moir
“I am excited to work with Live Borders again to share this recent phase of work, especially since it represents a shift in a new direction. Learning to let go of the familiar and leaning into a more intuitive play, has been the basis for these abstract works. This liberating approach has been exciting and revealing in equal measure and I’m looking forward to sharing it with a local audience.”

Phoebe Stewart – Assistant Curator
“We’re thrilled that Andy has returned to exhibit with us again. After his popular shows a few years ago we had originally rebooked him for 2020, so it’s so exciting to be able to see what he has come up with in the intervening lockdown time. Live Borders is committed to making our communities happier, healthier and stronger through collaborating with Border artists.”
