Live Borders welcome you all to come and celebrate the 250th anniversary of Sir Walter Scott.

Come along and discover Selkirk’s connections to Sir Walter Scott as you are guided through the town taking in the thrilling stories connected to his role in dispensing law and order in Selkirkshire.

Walk in the footsteps of history through Selkirk with our Museum & Galleries Guides and learn more about our museum collections, Selkirk’s local heritage and associated characters- human, ghostly and canine!

Walks/talks are suitable for adults and accompanied older children.

Dates and Times

Sunday 29 August-24 October meeting at 12:00 for a 12:15 start at Sir Walter Scott’s Courtroom the walk will last approximately 9o minutes which includes a 15 minute visit of the Courtroom.

Cost per person for Souter’s Routes Sunday Guided Walks:
Children (8-16) £5

Additional Information

  • Weekend Guided Talks/Walks are easy to moderate and last approximately 90 minutes.
  • Please be prepared for wet weather.
  • No refreshments or toilets are available on the walks .
  • All walkers are advised to be prepared to encounter some gentle hills, uneven ground and varying  outdoor  environments.
  • Guided Walks may finish out of the town centre. This is intended to give walkers  the option to explore further, independently, or to make their way back into town at their own pace, at conclusion of walk.
