How Live Borders will use your personal data

Personal Information, submitted via our website by email or electronic form, will be treated as confidential in line with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the the Data Protection Act 2018. Information which you provide us with will not be used in any way other than for its original purpose. Live Borders will process your personal data to carry its business functions, e.g. to investigate complaints, maintain a register of members, manage bookings.

Using our website

Any personal data collected through this website will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. Any personal data you provide in completing an online form or signing up for any communication will only be used for that purpose and will be processed in accordance with that Act. Our list of subscribers is password protected to prevent unsolicited emails from being sent to people on the list and details will not be passed on to third parties, except where they are processing information on our behalf, on our instruction.

The Live Borders website requests users locations to help us determine the distance between them and the venues on the website. This feature is entirely optional and requires opting in. Once opted in, the data is stored in a cookie on the users machine and is then used to determine the distances and display this data to the user. This data isn’t stored or processed by us in anyway, and all data remains on the users device. It is also entirely autonomous and contains no personally identifiable information.

Once opted in, you can opt out at any time using your browsers default functionality for sharing location services.

General traffic data is collected via Live Borders’s website. Any statistics produced are based on aggregated data from which no details of any individual visitor can be traced. Live Borders’s site does not automatically capture or store personal data from visitors to the site other than to record session information such as the most popular pages visited and the nature of the browser used. This information is used only for the administration of the site system and in the compilation of general statistics used by Live Borders to assess the use of the site and to inform business development.
