Live Borders - Diversity Week Programme

This October we'll be joining our partners in NHS Borders, Scottish Borders Council and The Big Lottery Fund in celebrating our beautiful region's diversity! 

Raising awareness of our differing races, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities, religions, age etc. We'll be holding some Live Borders events, so why not pop along and show your support. 

Walking up an Appetite

Our Health & Development Team welcome you along to take part in some beautiful walks - all with diverse themes!

  • The Bear walk –A countryside walk inspired by Wojteck. Sunday 15th of October, 10.00am. Sunwick Farm, Hutton TD151XG|
  • Stepping into the Map – A countryside walk. Monday 16th October, 10.00am. Eddleston Village Hall, Eddleston EH458RH

A diverse world of learning & Discovery with Libraries

  • BookBug session for 0-5-year-olds. Sunday 15 October, 11.00am – 11.30am (Free Session) – No Booking Required. Come along for a free story, song and rhyme session for babies, toddlers, pre-school children and their families. Hawick Town Hall.
  • Borders General Hospital – Market Stall event. Monday 16 October, 12.30pm - 4.30pm.
  • Borders College – Galashiels Campus Open Day – Market Stall event. ‘Smash the Stigma’. Wednesday 18 October,  12.00pm - 2.00pm.
  • Come along for a free Storytelling and Fun session. Saturday 21 October, 11.00am -12.00pm – (Free session no booking required). Galashiels Transport Interchange.

It is never too early or too late to start enjoying books!  And remember you can borrow free children’s books in your local library.
