Tumbliboo is Tops for Tots Pre-school active play on offer in Peebles

Tumbliboo is a soft play centre created by us within the Gytes Leisure Centre as part of a recent refurbishment of the centre. Unveiled last week, it offers valuable new indoor play opportunities for children in the town.

Ewan Jackson, our Chief Executive,  said: “Tumblilboo soft play has been specially developed to give small children the opportunity to enjoy active play in a safe and engaging environment. It features a fun range of activites and equipment that is ideal for pre-schoolers. The facility has only been open a few days but the feedback we have had from parents and children so far has been really positive. It is the perfect complement to our “Minis” sports prgramme for young children and our Buggie Bootcamp postnatal fitness sessions for mums with their babies and toddlers.”

Mary Thornburn, one of the first users of the centre and Granny to Emily and Grace from Peebles said: “This is a super facility for the town. There are many young families who will use Tumbliboo Soft Play. Even my grand daughter, Grace, who is only one, had great fun. I'm sure it will be very popular.”

Tumbliboo was created as part of a £55,000 investment by Borders Sport and Leisure in new facilities at the Gytes Leisure Centre . Other improvements have included re-configuring the building to provide a new gym with panoramic views, a new full air-conditioned exercise studio, a seating area and a family room.

Ewan Jackson concluded: “We are very pleased with the changes that have been made to the Gytes Leisure centre. The project was completed on time and on budget and will enable us to offer a host of new activities and exercise opportunities within the facility for local people of all ages.”
