Twenty-one young volunteers from across the Scottish Borders are set to join our Young Coach Programme 2015-16.

Selkirk Community Sports Hub will host its first “Come and Try” fun day for everyone in the town. Taking place on Saturday July 11th, the free event will provide a taster of an array of different sports including bowling, archery, canoeing and cricket with local clubs hosting each session.

The Scottish Borders Elite Swim Team Management Committee is seeking to appoint a Swimming Coach to take the leading role in performance development swimming within the Scottish Borders region.
This exciting position is the result of co-operation between Borders Sport and Leisure Trust, Scottish Swimming and swimming clubs in the region (Kelso ASC, Peebles ASC, Galashiels ASC, and Hawick & Teviotdale ASC)

Borders Sport and Leisure and Borders Disability Sports Group will host the region's first Open Boccia Competition at the Queens Leisure Centre on August 29th. The event will form part of the Scottish Disability Sports Boccia Series - a number of competitions held prior to the National Championships. Featuring three sections: physical disability, learning disability and players who uses assisted ramps, it is expected to attract participants from across Scotland in addition to local residents.

Over 100 football teams from across the Scottish Borders took part in the 2015 Borders Sport and Leisure Festival of Football held at the 3G Arena on June 7th.
