MAKERS’ MARKET CRAFT FAIR
8 – 9 November – Borders Textile Towerhouse/Heart of Hawick

Browse a range of stalls showcasing local crafts, including cashmere, glass, textiles, leather work, art and feltwork. In addition, meet artist Ann Smith, currently exhibiting The Wonders of Wool in the Towerhouse.

SANTA FUN RUN & FAMILY WALK
24 November – Harestanes
10:15 registration for 11:00 start
Dress up as Santa for a family run and walk in the Harestanes countryside.
Adult (16yrs+): £10 includes Santa suit
Junior (5-15yrs): £7 (includes Santa suit)
Child (2-4yrs): £3 (includes Santa hat)
Infant (under 2yrs): FREE
Dogs (on leads) are welcome & FREE

TWEEDDALE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON
5 December – Tweeddale Museum

Don’t miss the Christmas stalls and chance to see the famous Hamish MacDonald exhibition. Items for sale include silk scarves, cards and plus prints from Neil Stewart.

MEET ANNA AND ELSA
7 December – Heart of Hawick

Dress up as your favourite Frozen character and meet Anna and Elsa. The winner of the Frozen drawing competition will also be announced!

FESTIVE WREATH MAKING
7 December – Jim Clark Motorsport Museum
10:30 – 12:30
This festive wreath making workshop will be led by floristry tutor Ruth Fairgrieve at the Jim Clark Motorsport Museum. Participants will work with traditional materials such as holly, cinnamon, eucalyptus and noble fir to create an individual and beautiful festive wreath. All equipment and fabrics will be provided but please bring secateurs or strong scissors if you have them.

ELVES AND THE SHOEMAKERFOLKSY THEATRE

What will the poor cobbler and his wife do? They have no money and just enough leather to make one last pair of shoes. Then, good fortune suddenly smiles upon them. A captivating story about generosity, kindness (and a couple of mischievous elves!). This wonderful musical will have the whole family entertained.

Following another successful Oban Live in June, the band launched their ‘360’ tour and are delighted to make their first appearance in Selkirk. You are guaranteed a lively evening of contemporary Scottish music – a great way for families and friends to begin to celebrate the Festive Season.

THE DAFT DAYS
27 December – Tweeddale Museum

Discover the traditions of yuletide with stories of turkey, trees and tinsel. Why was Christmas banned as a public holiday and what was the importance of the yule log? From red candles to evergreens and a Peebles connection with Santa, join us for a midwinter guided walk celebrating ‘The Daft Days’. Returning to the museum for a taste of Peebles Past. Max 15 people.

FUNBOX – CHRISTMAS IN TOY TOWN

Ready…’Teddy’…Go! It’s time to get ‘dolled’ up and get your ‘skates’ on because we’re heading to Toy Town! With smashing singalongs and festive favourites, Christmas in Toy Town is perfect holly-jolly silliness for all the family. We may even need your help on stage too! Come dressed as, or bring, your favourite toy, and remember your Santa hat!

STEP INTO THE NEW YEAR WITH A WINTER WALK
4 January 2020 – Hawick Museum & Wilton Lodge Park
11:00 – 13:00

Start at Hawick Museum for a short walk in Wilton Lodge Park looking at some history and the Walled Garden. Finish in Hawick Museum with a short tour of new exhibitions and refreshments (option to make a small craft item to take away). Up to 15 people. Suit age 16 to adult. Suitable clothing should be worn.

4 – 5 January 2020 – Jim Clark Motorsport Museum
Jump into the driving seat and see if you can become Jim Clark Christmas Champion or simply fastest among your friends and family. Test yourself over 5 laps in our Lotus 49 racing simulator. Special prize for fastest driver of the weekend.
