Following the First Minister’s announcement that we will enter a Level 4 lockdown from the morning of 26th December, regrettably, this requires all Live Borders services to close.
Scottish Borders Council will keep the play park open, but please note the public toilets will remain closed as there will be no staff on site to service or sanitise.
We will keep you updated on when Harestanes Café can reopen, which at the earliest will be on 18th January.
We hope that you have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The café at Harestanes offers great local country cuisine and a warm, friendly welcome.
From beautifully-made Three Hills Coffees, to daily baked-scones and traybakes to nibble at over a chat; country fayre like salted mutton from local Borders’ sheep and smoked Atlantic Sea Trout, made bespoke for Harestanes by Ross Dougal of Eyemouth, you’ll find something to fuel your day.
We pride ourselves on working with local, quality produce and love being able to showcase the work of the amazing farmers, artisans and producers we have on our doorstep here in the Borders.
We know that a day out at Harestanes often involved your four-legged family members. Dogs on leads are welcome in our café so come and enjoy a treat with your pooch before or after enjoying one of our walks.
The café has been awarded a VisitScotland ‘Taste our Best’ Award, testament to our commitment to Scottish produce and the respect with which we treat it. Harestanes holds a Gold award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme and is a 4 star VisitScotland attraction.
Also on the Harestanes’ estate is a whole host of other local businesses, including Buy Design Gallery, Hunter Art & Tile Studio, Harestanes Glass Studio, Out-there Artisan, Mary’s Dairy and Kelso Gin. Please visit their websites for details of opening times.
