Board Member

Live Borders is seeking to recruit a new voluntary Board Member who, in this instance, has a passion for finance and accounting . Applicants must have the experience to perform at a corporate / strategic level as well as being able to demonstrate an understanding of the environment in which Live Borders operates in.
The Board is seeking applications from enthusiastic, highly talented strategic thinkers to continually shape, champion and drive its business.  The position of Trustee is a voluntary and unpaid role which provides the right people with an opportunity to make a real difference in their local community.  The Board meets four times a year and meetings are held in the evening.

Hawick Museum Volunteers

We are looking for volunteer gallery invigilators to play a key role in the day to day running of a National Museums of Scotland exhibition, ‘Discovering Ancient Egypt’ at Hawick Museum through March – May 2019. 

What we are looking for:

  • Open, warm and friendly manner
  • Interest in museums, art and culture
  • Ability to respond to general enquiries
  • Ability to work alone on occasion or sit/stand for periods of time

What you can gain:

  • Full training for the role
  • A gallery talk by the Curator and Egyptologist from the National Museums of Scotland
  • Opportunity to assist with front of house events and school visits
  • Experience of working in the arts and heritage sector
  • Chance to meet new people
