Siren Songs - Jenny Biddle, Miwa Nagato-Apthorp and Maya McNeil

Overview

si· ren : one who sings with enchanting sweetness

si· ren : a warning sound, a signal, a disruption

Three powerhouse performers join forces for an unforgettable evening of rich collaboration. ‘Siren Songs’ is a haunting call to the heart, for kindling the fire as we turn towards winter, and the future ahead.

Join Jenny Biddle, Miwa Nagato-Apthorp and Maya McNeil in a sonic braiding of guitar, piano, percussion, drone and voice, awakening songs and tales of old and new, each resonating for the times we find ourselves in.

“Jenny Biddle, wraps herself around her guitar, and like a marriage between body and instrument, she commands the guitar to talk “with uncommon skill and absolute self-assurance”. Her audience is compelled to join her on a voyage of passion and story in song.”

“Miwa’s is a voice of visceral power: simultaneously, with quieting and disquieting ease, it imposes itself onto an arena while pulling listeners along into its electrified vortex”

“A lot of people have something to say. Not everyone says it as beautifully and powerfully as Maya McNeil. She has the sound of the sea in her voice.”

Performer bios:

She shares her eclectic mix of feisty blues & roots grooves, ingenious cover versions, with a dusting of country roots for the wandering soul. Pulling from her 8-album career, she will be joined on stage by Miwa Nagato-Apthorp and Maya McNeil for a deliciously rich and 3 dimensional performance.
