A New Vision for Live Borders and the Communities We Serve
We have launched our new Corporate Strategy for 2026-31, setting out a clear vision for the future and a renewed commitment to improving lives across the Scottish Borders through culture, heritage, sport and lifelong learning.
Developed with input from staff, communities and partners, the strategy provides a roadmap for the next five years and outlines how we will strengthen our organisation, invest in our people and services, and maximise our impact for communities across the region.
As a charity, we exist to improve health and wellbeing and widen access to culture, heritage, sport and lifelong learning. Through more than 60 venues and facilities across the Borders, we deliver services, experiences and opportunities that are part of everyday life for thousands of people.
Our strategy focuses on building strong foundations for the future, improving the consistency and quality of our services, reducing barriers to participation, and working more closely with partners to deliver greater impact across the Scottish Borders. In particular, it recognises the challenges of geography, cost and social isolation, and our role in helping people stay active, connected and engaged in their communities.
“This strategy gives us a clear direction for the future and a strong foundation from which we can continue building an organisation that people across the Scottish Borders trust, value and rely upon.” – Bill Douglas, Chair of the Board of Trustees
“This strategy reflects what we have heard from our communities, staff, partners and stakeholders about the role they want Live Borders to play in the future. It builds on the strengths of the organisation, acknowledges the challenges we face, and gives us a clear direction for the years ahead.” Catriona McAllister, Chief Executive Officer of Live Borders
Our vision is for a Scottish Borders where culture, heritage, sport and lifelong learning are woven into everyday life and valued, used and championed by the communities they serve.
By 2031, we aim to be an organisation that communities can rely on, delivering consistent and reliable services while demonstrating a measurable impact on health, wellbeing and community life across the region.
