Overview
The 2026 live-action adaptation of Moana follows the titular Polynesian princess (Catherine Laga’aia) as she disobeys her father and sails beyond the barrier reef. Prompted by a summons from the ocean, she teams up with the shapeshifting demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on a quest to locate an ancient relic and restore the heart of the goddess Te Fiti to save her island home from a catastrophic environmental disaster.
