An Evening with Mark Beaumont

Overview

In anticipation of Stage 1 of the Tour de France whizzing through our region, Live Borders invites you to an evening with the record-breaking cyclist Mark Beaumont.

Having cycled around the world twice, Mark now holds this 18,000-mile record in 78 days & 14 hours – achieving the famous ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ for the first time by bicycle.

In this special event the evening before the Grand Départ from Edinburgh, you’ll hear how Mark pushed the limits of endurance, became the fastest person to have cycled around the planet and how each of us can learn from his record-breaking performance and strategy planning to reach our own goals.

He’ll also share his knowledge to give an insight into how the 184 cyclists leaving Edinburgh the following morning are mentally and physically preparing to cover 2200 miles over 21 days.
