Overview

In July 1969 astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin are preparing to touchdown on the Moon aboard the Apollo 11 Lunar Module to become the first humans to land on the Moon. Meanwhile one lone astronaut Michael Collins is preparing for the journey of his lifetime. Without Collins the other two astronauts would never get back to Earth. He was the mission lifeline. During his solo moon orbits Collins would lose all radio contact for 48 minutes every 2 hours. He was totally alone.

He was alone in a way no earthling had been before. He was described as the loneliest man in history. Collins was crucial for bringing the other two astronauts back to earth. What if something had gone wrong?  What would he have done? How did he cope with the solitude? How would we cope with the darkness and isolation?
