The Passion

The Passion

Paint, textiles, photography, print – a response to global warming by like-minded artists.

A group of unrelated artists working in different media set out to investigate how their environments are affected by change, including the changes wrought by global warming.

This exhibition brings together a group of artists with like-minded ideals, but with very different practices, working over a wide range of media. This includes recycling textiles, beach litter, wire, photography as well as watercolour, oils, acrylic painting. The exhibition is not focused on the individual but is about the common thread for our work: CHANGE

Each artist is concerned about environmental change, documenting and recording change that has happened and is happening right now. They are interested in the process of change in the wider landscape such as rural or urban, natural or built, earth or water and in the smaller detail of the environment- the love of the little environment; leaves, rocks, lichen. The motivation is the passion inside us as we express change in our specific environment.

Our work attempts to draw attention to change that may happen. The exhibition does not try to solve the problem of climate change; it is the personal response of each artist to what is happening in their perceived environment. Hopefully this will raise awareness and make people think.

Free exhibition – donations accepted.
