Bill Douglas appointed as new Live Borders Chair

At the meeting of the Live Borders Board of Trustees on Monday 31 March 2025, Bill Douglas was appointed Chair.

A new addition to the Board, Bill has had an executive leadership career in IT and transformation, latterly working with Codeclan, RBS, and as an independent consultant.

Bill is a trustee and chair of Musselburgh Citizens Advice Bureau, Fisherrow Trust and serves as a trustee and capital project committee chair for Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

Welcoming his appointment, Bill said: “I am delighted to be appointed to the Chair of Live Borders by my colleagues. Live Borders provides spaces for residents to be healthy, happy, and strong and it is the board’s responsibility to ensure this great capability continues to be available in the right places at the right times.

“The Board is keen to work with the community, Scottish Borders Council and its staff to build forward. I believe my experience working in local communities and the arts, along with engaging with Councils, gives me a valued perspective on the aspects of the role of Chair required to drive Live Borders forward.”

Monday’s Board meeting also saw three other new board members welcomed, as well as two new employee representatives.
