Local Support for Scottish Singing Legend

Live Borders Arts & Creativity have announced that local singer songwriter Miwa Nagato-Apthorp will be the support act at their show with Eddi Reader in Kelso.

The Hawick based musician will be playing songs from her new EP ‘Noren’ before Eddi Reader and her band perform their set at the Tait Hall on 6 June.

Miwa says her songwriting draws on Japanese and Scottish folk traditions to explore multicultural understandings of history, climate, womanhood and home, with tracks on Noren exploring her dual heritage from multiple perspectives, encompassing themes of land, labour and gender. ‘Noren’ is available digitally and on limited edition vinyl and CD, with copies on sale at the show.

With 10 critically acclaimed solo albums, 3 BRIT awards, a #1 single and an MBE in tow, Eddi Reader continues to delight audiences worldwide. This will be the third time Live Borders Arts & Creativity have brought this legend of Scottish music to the region.

With no two live shows the same and tickets selling fast, fans are encouraged to book their tickets now and arrive early to catch Miwa play her set.

This Live Borders event is sponsored by SCHLOSS Roxburghe.
