Exhibition & Workshop – An Afternoon with Marilyn by Jacoba Paulus

Exhibition & Workshop – An Afternoon with Marilyn by Jacoba Paulus

Free entry- donations welcome

An exhibition of new work by Borders-based freelance artist Jacoba Paulus.  Jacoba was born in Hamburg, Germany.  Initially she worked as a jeweller, before turning to painting and studying illustration.

For this exhibition, Jacoba has drawn inspiration from some of Hawick’s mills.  She had a number of drawing sessions at Johnston’s of Elgin, which she found a very enjoyable experience and resulted in a series of delightful coloured ink drawings.

Other work features objects found in a disused mill, which Jacoba has portrayed in an imaginative way that intrigues the viewer and draws them into the picture.

An Afternoon with Jacoba Paulus
Saturday 13 May
10:00 – 15:00
Artist Jacoba Paulus invites you to call in to her exhibition where you can see her at work and chat with her about her inspirations, techniques and processes. Jacoba gives an insight into how she creates these beautifully imaginative pieces and adds texture to an already wonderfully intriguing exhibition.
