Metamorphosis Exhibition with Louise Darcy

Metamorphosis is a new collection of work created specifically for this exhibition by Falkirk artist Louise Darcy with a focus on her love of the Scottish Islands and wildflowers.

Metamorphosis follows Louise as these paintings were created following the birth of her first child last year. Using mainly acrylic paints, Louise tries to make her work replicate the vivid feelings of joy that island life can conjure up.

She has visited many Scottish Islands and was recently married in Harris. She hopes you can feel her positive energy through these paintings.

Her focus when starting a new piece of work is a happy colour palette which she plays around with until it feels right.  She tries to conjure up the childhood nostalgia of painting as a form of play and loves nothing more than a new art set!
