Rantin’ Rovin’ Romantics Events

Rantin’ Rovin’ Romantics Events

Exhibition and event programmes to mark the 200th anniversary of the publication of James Hogg’s novel – The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner.

Relaxed, accessible and informative, Rantin’ Rovin’ Romantics is a new monthly series of readings of extracts from the literature of Scott, Hogg and their contemporaries.

Incorporating collections-focused discussions, these events take place between May and October 2024 at Sir Walter Scott’s Courtroom. Join us and explore the themes and stories surrounding major figures of the Romantic and Gothic tradition and their work.

The Courtroom also has a special exhibition about James Hogg to mark the anniversary of the publication of his seminal novel.
