A look at the origins of well-known Border surnames

Douglas, Elliot, Pringle, Scott, Turnbull and more- this pop-up exhibition tells the story of some of the well-known Scottish Border surnames. Through samples of family tartans and family photographs, learn the origins and history of each surname. There is also a list of many more typical Border family names.

As part of our ‘Summer of Play’ programme, there will be free drop-in children’s craft activities to accompany the exhibition. Pop in to make your own heraldic shield to take home!
