Two brand-new experiences are coming to Jedburgh Castle Jail & Museum

Visitors to Jedburgh Castle Jail & Museum will soon be able to experience the historic jail in two completely new ways, with the launch of a brand-new escape room and immersive guided tour.

Launching this summer, UNSOLVED: The Malcolm Munro Case and UNLOCKED: The Hidden Cell Tour will offer visitors the chance to uncover hidden stories, explore rarely seen spaces and immerse themselves in the fascinating history of one of the Scottish Borders’ most iconic buildings.

A local businessman has been found dead and the prime suspect is behind bars. But something doesn’t add up.

In this brand-new escape room experience, teams must search for clues, solve puzzles and piece together the evidence to uncover the truth before time runs out.

Set within the atmospheric surroundings of Jedburgh Castle Jail, UNSOLVED combines mystery, teamwork and problem-solving with the unique setting of a real historic prison.

UNLOCKED: The Hidden Cell Tour

For those who prefer history to mystery, UNLOCKED: The Hidden Cell Tour offers an immersive guided journey through the jail’s hidden past.

Led by a costumed interpreter, visitors will step beyond the public spaces and explore rarely seen areas of the prison, including the atmospheric Male Prisoner Cell Block.

Along the way, they will hear stories of crime, punishment and prison life, discovering the people who lived, worked and were imprisoned within the jail’s walls.
