MACMILLAN CIRCUIT TRAINING-LW

Scottish Borders Diversity Week

As part of Scottish Borders Diversity Week, which runs from 17 to 23 September, the Live Borders Health Department is holding a Taster Day on Friday September 21 at Tweedbank Bowling Club to give people a chance to come along and try some the activities available and for Healthcare Professionals to see what is on offer.

There will be free Health Conditions, Gentle Movement and Falls Prevention Classes taking place throughout the morning as well as other activities such as walking and Powerplate.

Information about how to get signed up to these classes and Live Borders’ One Club membership will be available on the day as well as some light refreshments.

Charlotte Jones, Macmillan Move More Development Officer told us: “We are looking to increase participation in some of the Health classes we offer and to allow people the chance to come along and try these classes in a relaxed and informal environment.”

A participant currently attending a Gentle Movement class in Peebles added: “I am now part of a group who have been very welcoming, I’m socialising more, meeting new people and I feel well supported.

“I never feel judged coming to this class and the exercises can be adapted depending on how I’m feeling that day.”

Live Borders is a charity working with different partners to deliver classes across the Borders for people with different long term health conditions.
