Walking for Wellbeing

Live Borders pleased now be offering ‘Walking for Wellbeing’ monthly walks which will provide a familiar and supportive environment for people to participate and develop community wellbeing.

These walks will combine walking with reading and literature supported from Live Borders Library Services, or a museum based cultural activity support by Live Borders Museums, Galleries & Archives Services. This programme has been developed to promote and support holistic benefits for wellbeing and mental health.

Library Services and the Museums, Galleries & Archives services sit at the heart of our communities and connect people with each other and now this can be done in the great outdoors.

Library Wellbeing Walks
The walk and talk book groups aren’t your usual book groups, they start with a walk and then each month you will receive a book to read that month, this will then be discussed the following month with the group.  The group will discuss the books whilst on the walk and enjoying the outdoors.  Feel free to bring your own flask and snacks!

Museum Wellbeing Walks
Every museum walk will be based around a certain theme, for example the local town’s history, an exhibit or the local festivals.  Details of the specific walks will be released soon.

Please see below when these walks will take place, to book your place on any of the walks just email libgalashiels@liveborders1.org.uk or call 07467 917 777.
