Live Entertainment Takes Centre Stage Across the Borders This Autumn

From comedy superstars and world-class music to gripping theatre and stunning ballet, charity Live Borders unveils an exciting autumn programme as it looks to further establish itself as the heart of live events in the Scottish Borders.

The charity’s Arts & Creativity arm has brought together nationally recognised performers and outstanding touring productions, with the season celebrating Live Borders’ commitment to ensuring audiences can enjoy outstanding cultural experiences in the heart of their local communities. The programme offers something for everyone throughout September, October and November.

Among the highlights is three nights of comedy delivered by the nation’s favourite comedian Alan Carr, who will be bringing his highly anticipated Work in Progress tour to three Borders venues across November. Renowned comedians Jimeoin, Rich Hall, Fred MacAulay and Georgie Carroll promise laugh-out-loud nights for audiences across the region.

Music lovers can enjoy the timeless sounds of Across the Universe, celebrating the songs of The Beatles in Galashiels, while Scottish folk-rock giants Skerryvore bring their electrifying live show to Kelso in November.

The autumn season also features a rich programme of theatrical productions. Audiences can experience the powerful storytelling of The Wars of Patie Crichton in Jedburgh and Hawick, celebrate the creative journey of local participants in the final performance of Untold Stories, enjoy the imaginative family theatre of War of the Birds, and discover compelling new productions including DO NOT PASS GO and 60 Miles Above the Moon at Heart of Hawick.

Dance fans will have the opportunity to witness the elegance and artistry of Crown Ballet, bringing a stunning performance to Kelso in October.

Jason Moyes, Arts and Programming Manager at Live Borders commented: “We’re pleased to be bringing such a varied live events programme to venues across the Scottish Borders this autumn. From major comedy acts and live music to theatre, dance and family performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. It’s important to us that audiences across the region can access high-quality cultural experiences close to home, and we’re looking forward to welcoming both regular attendees and those visiting our venues for the first time to over the coming months.”
