Bookbug in Galashiels
Join us for our fun Bookbug sessions at the Galashiels Library which will be hosted by a member of the Live Borders Library Team.
Free, friendly, fun sessions of songs, rhymes and stories for babies, toddlers, and their families and carers. Each session lasts around 30 minutes and has been designed to support children’s development while having fun. They take place in a very relaxed environment and are a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your little one, and meet other families.
Sessions take place on Wednesdays.
These Bookbug sessions are suitable for children aged 0-3 accompanied with parents/carers. At the moment there is no need to book, just turn up at the time below and enjoy! If for any reason Bookbug is taking a break we will put it on this page so please check back regularly!

Rhymes and songs help your baby’s language skills and are great building blocks for your baby’s future learning. Sharing time singing with your child is a fantastic way to have fun together. And it’s a great place to meet other families. Come along and join in the fun!
Sharing books, songs and rhymes for a few minutes a day will:
- Develop language skills
- Allow time for cuddling and bonding
- Help families to relax
- Boost children’s confidence
- Encourage drawing and writing
- Provide a strong start in life
