Lots for little ones

Kids

Each of our libraries has a special children’s section with books for all ages including:

– Baby books
– Story and picture books
– Early readers
– Information books
– Books on tape and CD
– Junior DVDs

All our books are free to borrow. There is a loan fee for DVDs.

There are computers which are free for members to use with lots of links to useful homework sites at our Homework Help page as well as fun online games.

How do I join?

Joining the library is free and anyone can join. Ask our library staff for a membership form. If you’re under 16 complete your details and ask your parent or guardian to sign and return it, they will need to bring at least one form of ID. You can find more information in Joining the library.

Library activities

There are lots of activities and events such as crafts and storytelling organised in our libraries, and during the school holidays all our libraries take part in the Summer Reading Challenge, with stickers and prizes, activities and events designed to create a real buzz around children’s reading.

Most events are held during school holidays, after school or on Saturday mornings. Look out for posters in your local library, check individual libraries online or ask our friendly library staff.
