But I don't want to rest!
Starting a new fitness journey often makes us want to work extra hard to achieve our goals, however, sometimes we set ourselves back by not resting enough in between those really tough workouts.
Did you know that exercise involves us breaking down muscles in our bodies? It’s not until we’ve had a good nights sleep and a day of gentler activity that we gain increased muscle tone and fitness levels start to increase. It should come as no surprise that those who rest in between workouts achieve their goals quicker and with fewer aches and pains!
Don’t worry, we won’t force you out of the gym. In fact, rest days don’t even have to take place outside of the gym, perhaps a yoga session or a pilates class could be the perfect way to balance your workouts. These sessions are also great for increasing flexibility and balance, so you’ll get even more out of your next tough battle at the gym. If you’re already making the most of our classes throw in a weekly swim as one of your rest days.
